hi everyone,

we r doing our final project , for that i need to model detailed 3d tui bird model.
can u people tell me which way is better for body and feathers etc., i mean poly or nurbs for further detailed textureing and rigging ...
and can u people suggest me any tutorial for this ..

I would use poly's but it is a personal preferance and depends on what you feel happiest with. It also depends on what software you are using.

Good luck and please post WIP of the bird as it will be helpfull for you to get feedback as the bird is being built and because we all like to see work develope.

not a bad start, although the proportions need more attention.

this is my latest update of my tui model,.
all the feathers on the body are paricle geo instaces for thexturing purpose.

used zbrush normal map for detailing beak and feet.
