the1stguest 06-09-2003, 10:19 PM i used 3d max 4 for almost one month then one day this message apperaed:
A COMPONENT OF THE SOFTWARE LICENSE IS NOT AVAILABLE.THE PROGRAM WILL EXIT[CODE 1]
i uninstalled c-dilla and then re-installed it again but no difference occured, i m using windows me ,plz help. thanks

As for your question; if re-installing max doesn't help, contact discreet and see if they have a solution

Well I won't blame Windows ME in this situation but if you're serious into CG then you really, really need to get rid of that piece of $hit o/s! Really.
Did you do anything to your system just before the message appeared? Like install new software or hardware like an ethernet card?
Have you tried reinstalling the whole program? Also, contact discreet support or your discreet reseller. Maybe they can help.

Like Signal to Noise said, this sort of problem really should be directed to the discreet support forum or your reseller.
Once the cdilla program stuffs up, it generally cannot be recovered until you do a reauthorisation.
Since you are using 3dsmax4, you might want to check if you have the latest cdilla update from www.discreet.com
There were issues with max 4 and cdilla with some virus programs. Especially Norton. Most if not all of these have been recitified with the latest cdilla version for max 4.
