Hi Folks...
I'm working on my first of all time Low Poly character, so i'll need a little bit of advice here.
This character is some kind of barbarian.

Right now my character is footless and handless, but i'm working on it.

The model is 1316 polys on a 1500 budget

Got some face to delete and some problems to solve with the head... but the main stuff is here.

So don't be gentle, and tell me what you REALLY think of it, and where the problems should be...

thanks
Babozor

It's kind of hard to see what you are trying to accomplish here because it's so early. Seems like you're going for a very stylised look but imho you should start to create something realistically proportioned for your first low poly character.

a cool barbarian... seems to be Zeus or a powerful avatar of Thor
the face is well rendered

When will you put a texture on it?
He will be have a better look then.

He does look a lot like the rubber poop monster in the head! I'd say to watch the anatomy in the arms where the bicep and the tricep connect. The bicep should connect to the bottom of the tricep. Also he's looking a little bo-legged.

If you're using max, when applying your smoothing groups, you can blend them together in certain areas. For example if you're using smoothing group 1 for the chest and 2 on the arm, you can select the faces in the arm that connect to the chest and give them group 1 and 2 to smooth out some of the seams you get when using the smoothing groups.

Yeah, i know my smotthing group are a little bit crapy but i'm still working on it... i'm cleaning some faces too and doing other stuff on the model.

as i said it's my first one... and it's not the shitty dogman demon (even if i really liked the movie)... maybe with a few changes it can look like it...

i'll try the stuff on the smoothing group u told me (some faces part of 2 smoothing group if i understood it)
i'm also working on the torso (looks like breast right now) and the foot too big compared to the cavs...

that's all
i'll try to post some more stuff when done

thanks for comments
