Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me sort out an issue I'm having with rigid bodies in maya.

I have a created a bunch of rigid bodies but a group of them have some how been screwed up. They will react to the same fields as the other rigid bodies but they wont collide with them nor any other rigid body I create to test with. They only collide with each other. Its like there on another plane of existence or something. How do I make them collide with the other objects in my scene? Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Thanks for the help.

They may be on another collision layer, check in your channel box that the collsion layers are the same, otherwise sounds like your scene may have corrupted, Mayas rigids are poor.

Well its not the collision layers. It might just be corrupted, is that common? What do people usually use for rigid simulations?

You may want to check the normals are facing out on those rigids that arent colliding or that maya isnt reading an old cache file, but to me it sounds like your scene has had it or just setup wrong. Nima for Maya seems to be a popular choice for rigid body dynamics, you should try it out.

The scene in maya can have more then one ridig body solver.
This sounds like the new objects you are creating are using new solver, and therefore are not colliding with those already created.
Just be sure you are using the same solver for them.
