Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop

Hello! Here's my attempt at modeling the newly designed Mazda Furai. I used maya and rendered it in mental ray with a little help from photoshop. Please let me know what you think.

i think the model its very nice , but you can work more on the render settings like lights, materials and camera lens.

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm quite new to rendering so it's good to hear this feedback. Should the reflections be sharper? Or maybe the lighting should be more realistic? I attached a few additional images as well. Thanks again!

Jeeb,

A couple things that crossed my mind...

- I see some faceting on the front that looks like it just needs to be smoothed
- Definitely sharper reflections, w/ the soft it looks like it's trying to be a luxury car, when the body is totally fierce looking
- The highlight on the windshield is a bit much, I might try (on both windows) a smooth grad from bot to top and not really show any of the interior
- The wheels look aluminum which is nice, but maybe they're a bit dark
- Overall, pretty dark, esp. on hood, although that soft blackness might be a paint job??
- More reflections please!! :) esp. some on the rims (ie. top of spoiler, top of right (screen) wheel well, maybe that little thing sticking off the roof
- I like the subtle, soft reflection in the ground
- Play w/ composition, there's a lot of dead space

Hope this helps, and I can't wait to see it finished 'cause it's looking sweet already!

Maybe some bounce cards and..........................hummm may be try secondary defuse bounce to get rid of a lot of the dark spots in the nooks and crannies if you haven't already.
Nice model

Cheers.

O.o

. . .

So that's Mazda's next generation car !? :D

I was wondering what the next sport/racing car from Mazda is after the RX7.

Now that's one killer car :D Looks very mean :)

It makes Batman's car look like a toy :P

/me still likes Mazda 787B slightly more :)

I like your image by the way, it's got a nice smooth and balance feel too it. At least it's not one of those sleeky, ultra reflective mirror cars :P

Yeah a good friend of mine was modeling the 787B awhile ago. But he never got the chance to finish:). I agree that it was an wawesome car. ANd I would love to see a new Rx-7, hopefully the rumors are true and they'll bring it out in 2011...But if the furai and some of the other concepts are any indication, then we'll definitely have some cool and exciting cars to look forward too! Thanks for the feedback!
