*big thumbs up*
Great work man <3 it.

i think the 266mhz is the only thing thats impressive. imo, its not the tool that makes the model, its what the artist is able to do with that tool. then again, to push autocad that far :-), outstanding hehe on your behalf

... I'm sorry, but Autocad must be horrible or something... cause you guys seem surprised that he could make something that good in it... I don't know what it is...

Great model!

Autocad has come a long way, guys. It's 3d modeler is really top notch for doing anything like this. It's got alot of mechanical desktop's features too...(if not all).

Anyway, impressive modeling, good concept, and an elegant render to boot.

The model of the robot is made without mechanical desktop, because it hangs on 266 Mhz.

It is all modeled in "clean" AutoCad ! :banghead:

Zhifko made it for about 3 days, but he has big problems to export it, because the color layer index of AutoCAD got used up!( and there is an restriction of colors, and not to mention the 64K polys limit per object of 3DS format)
:annoyed:

The model is about 455 000 polys. And renders for about 10 mins in V-Ray :argh:

when i first learned autocad... r12 i guess... i remember seeing a sample of a microscope .dwg ... i was really impressed to see this architects tool build meshes as complex as a microscope (hey i was 14yold) and not only walls and house blueprints...
now... i'm impressed again... :D

autocad is a powerfull modeller mainly becouse of its milimetric accurancy...

good job :applause:

Really good,

amazing attentino to detail. I like it a lot. the only thing is that certain parts of it looks so delicate, I would be afraid to throw a rock at it or put it in winds too stiff for fear it would break in half. But Great stuff, keep up the good work

nice work, pretty extreme detail...i can appreciate the autocad modelling, which i'm sure performed quite well for this - did my first 3d model ever with R12-dos solid modelling extention  (fyi, that first model was ed-209 of robocop fame...although i think it's safe to say your robot would also kick my robot's ass)

Very creative, I love the way you created the legs. Personally I don't like the grain effect int he first shot, I find it too distracting and it lessens the noticable detail level. But the design is flawless.

Absolutely stunning!!! indeed.

Texturing is an art form by itself, like modeling, like animating.
Each one is a different curve but they all have to work together as one.

I just had a look at some of your other threads, and I think that all your work is excellent. Personally my favorites are is the first scene with your robot and the royal blue subaru, but all the work is top quality. I don't know firsthand about how CAD is, but from what others have told me its pretty horrific, so I suppose this makes the model more impressive, but it would be amazing made in any app.
