Hi guys,

I decided to join the competition, I'll model a diorama based on a fantastic Daniel Helzer's sketch (thank you!).
Hope to have time for shading and texturing.. lot of things to do. Short deadline. Gonna have fun

Hey there :) Here's a side view of Vader. I made some changes, specifically the steam pipes protruding from the head like bull horns. I just thought it would look cool. I'm sorry for the loose scribbles, I hope it's enough to go by. Feel free to interpret it as you like. I'll try and do a front view tomorrow.

Ok, just started. Basic character proportions. I'm gonna model it "old school" with organized topo (maybe for future animation) and then detail him. Girlfriend is out, so today hardcore modeling 'til evening! :bounce:

Have to be quick cause I've got only 20 days left of my Silo trial.. wonderful app!

Some minor adjustments, did the hand and started the head.. kinda improvising on face design..

Wow, that's coming along nicely, Galvo :)

Here's a front version of Vader, it's admittedly sloppy, but I think the strong points are there. By the way, he has the lobster tail coat which I think was worn by the military of that period, however I added a cape with some fancy embroidery on the side. I was going to do a long cape, but the lobster tail got lost, so I settled for a mid-size one. I like it, but if it doesn't work for you, go ahead and trash it, no big deal :) I'll try and do Luke tomorrow.

Half hour of work in the launch time..
Adjusted head design a bit..

Reworked the eyes to look more like googles, also changed the elements on top of the head, I imagined them like mini gasmask, to help Vader filtering external air and also his own vapour.. let me know what you think Daniel..

I really like this concept, and your WIP is fun to watch. I'd have to say though that there's something wrong with the proportions. I'm late blooming into the artistic field, so it's hard to pinpoint, but compared to the sketches, he doesn't seem "superhero-eey" enough. Maybe wider pecks would help.

Keep up the good work. I'm anxious to see more.

Hi RageofAges, thanks for c&c. Anyway, I was previously modeling it as the sketches, but imho it was a bit too muscolar to be a victorian antihero.. so take it much as my interpretation of the character..
