Hi Folks,

im doing a tutoial from 3dtotal, polymodelling the fiat 500 and ive followed the steps implictly, but somethings happened and i dont know why, when i apply a meshsmooth to the finished lower mesh, the bonnet has a random polygon just poking out, below are two images one with meshsmooth one without,

Well, that the way it works.
You willhave to add additional edges in order too keep/get creases.

meshsmooth averages out the vertex position so you lose the sharp corners and edges. The way around it is to add more edge loops around those areas like scrimski said.

That's what any hobby/profession is about. learning until you die. ;) More Edge loops like everyone else said.

Thanks guys for your responses, still cant find where to put the edge loop though...

edit: scratch that, for some reason i had an additional edge on the same level as another edge, this was being missed and wasnt welded therefore screwing the mesh up as there wasnt enough corners
