u know where u pick what video mode u want to use after u install 3dsm?

well what i want to know is doesn't it make a diffrence if u choose software or open GL?

because i tryed open gl and it didn't work for since i have a crappy video card but software works (of course)

is one better then the other? and what are the advantages/ disadvantages

thx in advance :)

opengl is faster... when it comes to high poly objects

OpenGl (and maybe even D3D :p ) is overall better and faster than software, provided that you have an opengl card since it relies on hardware acceleration.
Your maps should display with more accuracy, models display faster, animation playback is better... makes Max a lot more comfortable to work with.

textures in viewports still look like shit... no matter what it is... software or opengl or d3d
