View Full Version : Moving the Canvas "back"?

First off I'd like to say I did a forum search with words like "canvas" and "move canvas" and "move background" and didn't see a single person asking this question, (which makes me think it's super-basic even for a newb), but here goes:

After importing an object, I noticed it intersected with the background, being "cut off" by it. So I moved it towards me. Problem solved. But what if I want to keep the object stationary and move the background away from it? If I want to have a large distance between objects, I might want to move it farther back when adding "background" objects.

Bottom line: Is the canvas completely stationary? Is the only way to put distance between objects and canvas to move the objects forward?

Hmmm... I believe I may have a partial answer for my own question. If clicking and dragging up or down OUTSIDE the widget in both rotate and resize mode, I'm able to more easily adjust the distance between the object and the canvas.

I still don't know how to adjust the canvas distance itself, though.

Yeah, ZBrush doesn't use cameras so it creates the illusion that things are far away or close through scaling and moving.
