Hi,

I am trying to animate a softbody and I find that I like the motion that I am seeing during the regular play back in the maya interface over the playback when Maya calcluates the simulation for rendering.

Is there any way for me to capture the simulation from the playback?

Or am I missing part of the process?

Well you really need to use a playbast to preview motion for particles.. Since the realtime playback is unpredictable and effects how the dynamics are created I don't think you can really capture from it..as the capturing would effect the speed of playback..

You should allways use play all frames, or create particle cache or use a playblast to preview dynamic motions.
