I'm at my wits end. What do I do about this problem? The blobby particles are rendering fine mostly, but every frame or so, the weird thing on the right happens. It looks awful when I play back my image sequence.

Increase the sampling detail of your blobby system. Actually I don't know if you can anymore, I can't find it in 3.01 or 3.5. Though I seem to get perfect blobs so maybe Halfy's fixed it.

I'm not sure which version you're using, but I recall it use to work off of a spatial sampling a-la meta balls where the world was divided into a 3d grid and where the balls or particals crossed that grid it'd know to place a point for geometry. The grid if not complimetry to the size of metaballs or blobbies would show artifacts like your picture.

To get around it you increase the density of the grid the name of which escapes me - and I can not find anymore, I expect it's been altered since 2.0 which is when I probably looked at it last. Or you increase your blob size, and/or the influence size of them.

Good luck.
