View Full Version : SMT, Resym, Suv
ArticSpider 10-05-2008, 09:51 PM I'm having trouble understanding subdividing when and with what. When will I be using SMT, Resym, Suv and most importantly WHY those at whatever time? Sorry for a vague questioning. I'm just a beginner.

None of the ones you mentioned are really vital to using zbrush.
Turn off Smt is to maintain the shape when subdividing, boring and almost useless...
"Suv" smooths the uvs for each subdivision. Not really a very useful button since you can control seperatly if you want your maps to fit onto a smoothed uv or not. Most of the time thats up to the rendered (MR, Rman etc) howto. Anyway, you can try subdividing with the setting on and off and look at the uvs in a 3d package and you will understand.
Resym is what it say it is. You can get back your symmetry on the model if its lost. Which you will need sooner or later.
More than that, RTFM;)
