View Full Version : No Keying possibility
xsitar 10-05-2008, 03:43 PM So i think i found the first things that you actually can't really animate in xsi. Everything else has animateable parameters next to the input & sliders but not so these here:
Shape Jitter (under Random Values)
Very frustrating. I can't believe those inputs/ sliders values can't be animated.
Any idea why Softimage left these out?

probably because the shape jitter itself has an overall Time Control.
The random values are the a "setup", let's say.
If you have XSI 7, I would go for an ICE deformation using a turbulize, for example...
you will get much more interesting shapes with that.
Or even the Perling Noise from Michele Sandroni http://www.motionblur.it/

Really? Which would be?
I see the x,y,z values but they need to be animated each separately. Which one is the "global" control you're talking about?
there's a tab "time control".
You don't even need to touch it, just add a shape jitter and play back and you will see your jitter moving.
It's automatically like that.
