Okay, need to work on a few things yet, but it's getting close to being done. Critiques on lighting and texturing are really needed. I have a better texture for the pancake, just forgot to use it in this render. Any suggestions for maybe making it photorealistic would be more than welcome as well, though that's not the original intent of the image.

I'll be adding a few more props as well. Mostly a fork/knife for the pancakes, things on the fridge, that sort of thing.

That stick of butter looks a little short..

By short, do you mean the long way or how high it rises out of the butter holder? I also plan on actually making the butter shorter (the long way) since right now it's a brand new stick.

its not tall enough heightwise, maybe move the bowl a little more to the left so it doesn't distract as much from the emphasis fo the scene?

I think it's not so much a matter of the butter being too tall as it is the dish it's in being too deep. Butter dishes are shallow so you can get a knife down into them.

Also, moving the large bowl is a good idea, or perhaps just making the orange(?) in the bowl less bright; it really draws the eye.

the pancakes look a little to stiff to me... seems that they should flop over on top of each other a little more.

Well in my family we roll our corn on the butter and it makes the butter become short, yes it is too short although and the pancakes I will agree are too stiff looking.. What is up with the wall paint??? looks like an old garages wall paint, dingie.. It's your preference though..
