Good morning all,

This is my first WIP thread here (other than a couple of attempts in the FX Wars section).

I am working on an idea of a short animation with a frog.

First here is a little on the modeling (the technique was stolen from Massimo Righi, who has an cool web site filled with amazing animal [and other] models).

Now I am off to start UV mapping and texturing.

Please let me know what you think.

I finished up the modeling yesterday, and actually started trying to unwrap it for texturing. I was using Maxs standard tools and getting horrible results. While looking for something better, I downloaded the trail version of DeepUV. Despite a complete lack of decent tutorials, I ended up getting something that I could live with. Once I got the hang of it the whole process only took me a half hour or so. I recommend that you all try it out.

Anyway here is what I ended up with this morning, plus the days worth of texture map painting (only the diffuse map shown here). I still have a few horrible seams, but I am happy with the low amount of stretching.

I also added my reference photo.

Comments and suggestions please.
