ok..im trying to model a ship of some sort...and i have encountered a problem...as you can see, the turret is round, i think it should have sharper edges...would HN wheights help me here? ive tried using them, but not successfully...i want certain parts to be round, and other parts of it to be hard lined...so it looks like plates of steel...suggestions?

HN weights is the right choice. For example you can select only the edges you want to make sharper and then drag your mouse while holding "." key. Also "break phong edges" can help you from artifacts.

Here is a tip. Delete the guns parts and remake the base pollies to extrude into the guns. Do inner extrude and then do another inner extrude by 0.01. Now do extrude for the guns and at their tips do another inner extrude by 0.01.:buttrock:
