What would be the IK set up for having it so when I lift the foot off the ground, the heel goes first, and when it goes back down the toes hit the ground first. I want the foot null to move everything together, but in successiion. Does this make sense?

Thanks in advance.

Here (http://www.wesart.com/free/rigtut/wesrig.html) is a good tut that shows how to make such a thing.

It was written for 7 but my guess is it should work fine in 8....

You can always just download the rig that flingster is hosting for me. Basically with a combination of positioning and rotating the control hierarchy with the control slider for the toes you can get this sort of control.

Check it out:

ZIP file - need multitarget plugin
http://www.flingster.com/cgtalk/stray/Leg_Rig.zip

or SIT file - need multitarget plugin
http://www.flingster.com/cgtalk/stray/Leg_Rig.sit

I am updating it right now so I hopefully will have that posted soon as well. Something about de-orthonormaliztion or something...

Actually, I did download your rig and it's EXACTLY what I want to do. I'm trying to use it on my dino rig. The leg is basically Wes Ware's rig, which works fine, but the dino has a really high ankle so I'd have to drag is foot back too far in order to get the foor roll, so your set up is better suited for what I need to do, becasue with the slider, I can roll the foot whenever I'd like. Just having a little trouble tailoring your rig to what I have. I think I have to set up my targets in a different way. When I rotate what would be the "ball" of the foot on my rig, the toes move with it. I need the toes to stay flat. I have PoseMixers set up for foot curls, toes spread, etc. so that's not a problem.

Thanks for giving us the rig, by the way...now back to disecting it!!!
