I guess no one knows how to make cg water, at least critic my work. thanks:shame:
What codec did you use, because I can't play those videos. The first one just won't work, while the second one is stuck on the first frame.:hmm:

here's the problem with DivX 5. I don't want to pay for the bundle to get the codec and I don't want all that spyware crap on my system. So, I guess I won't be one of the people who A) Jump immediately to answer your question B) Look at the video

Ok, let me be much more specific. i don't see the need to get a codec that doesn't have all the goodies with it. It isn't needed for commercial purposes, so, I don't need it. If I want to take advantage of the *real* compression capabilities of DivX then you have to get the pro version. Get it free, it comes with spyware and crap I don't want at all. Otherwise pay for it.

Slightly off topic but I have had so many problems with Divx 5 I've had to stop using it and so far no one over at the Divx forum has been able to come up with a solution. Divx 4.1 always worked fine for me but unfortunately it won't allow me to view your vids properly. From what I can see you need to find a shader solution to seperate areas into foam based on possibly the height of the waves. I know Willi Hammes amongst others has managed to do some great stuff in this vien
Look in the animations section at :

as I think it is this kind of thing you are after
I imagine spending an awful lot of time using the cellular map as a starting point might pay off but it will be a hard task.
The free vesrion of Divx 5 Pro is riddled with spyware. to read more visit the DivX forums or download Ad Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and check your system out.. you may be in for a surprise. :)

I'd go back to DivX 4.1 or 4.2 if you still have them. They do a good job and are free of the congestion. Oh yeah..it's a real shock to see how much these people invade your system, isn't it?

Though I can't help with creating foam, I may be able to help with the divx issue.
To get rid of those pesky startup crap, and silent running programs without having to run a selective start up, delete them from the registry. They can be found by opening the start menu, selecting run, then type regedit. *PLEASE NOTE* jacking with the stuff in this program can cripple your computer seriously if you don't know what you are doing. That being said, you can deleate Gator, or Attune, or the likes from running by going to
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and deleating the NON system oriented files. You can tell which ones are from the junk programs by looking at the file paths.
The "easy" way to do this is to run MSCONFIG from the start menu and uncheck them, but this makes your machine run in selective start up, and in some cases causes minor problems. Note also that windows 2k does not have MSCONFIG, but it can be copied and pasted from a windows computer that does.
Maybe that's a bit to technical, and not how I intended my first post to be, but hey, that's life. Off to find a place to post a picture.::D
