I am building an stainless steel sphere.
But my if i place it with an uvw map it looks ok in the viewport
but it is different in the render.

Viewport :

Render :

In the viewport the stripes of the stainless steel are vertical in the render the are cylindrical.. Does anyone has an idea why this happens.. ?

excuse me for my english.

My first guess would be that you still have the reflection set to "enviroment" If you want the map to match the viewport than make sure you switch the material setting back to texture.

Were can i find that option ?
I have searched but not been able to find it.. the help couldn't tell me anything either.

but i guess you have a point, thanx

Already found it, it was in the material editor under the map.
Did solve, but not enough, i am able to go further now..

thanx

Try this to see if it works: right click on the viewport menu and then go click on Texture Correction. This usually fixes texture anomolies in the viewport. Be warned it also takes up more memory on your computer when you do this.
