Shademaster 06-07-2003, 01:03 PM Hi all,
I have been working on this animation for a whole afternoon and I kind of liked the result:

(quicktime 6)
Whe just got Cinema 4d 8 educational at school and I wanted to test the new F-curves on this baby.
It's not finished yet, I am working on the ridiculously fast crash sequence now :D
Modelling, texturing and lighting where 5 minutes work so please don't bother too much :p
C&C on the animation greatly appreciated!
Bye, Daan

AWESOME!
Love the camera shakes near the end as your tracking the side view of the car. Reqally get a sense of speed. The figures reaction gets that across as well.

Hehe, thank you everybody :D . The speed effect was generated by a vibrating null-object (25 times a sec) and using 25x motionblur. I saw that kind of shaky effect on Extreme Machines once and though that would be cool to do in 3d.
If it made you laugh then I am a happy person :D

Thanks again :) , I am working on the audio right now. I downloaded some really high quality samples of superbikes and dragrace cars to fit in :p
I am also working on a high quality version. Only downside is that rendering takes so long, adding a window for example doubles the rendertime while it doesn't really add anything special. Hmm, maybe I should buy an extra render system with only a processor and motherboard in it. Computers aren't that expensive these days.
Nway, I am still working on some final shots here so you can all enjoy the complete testanimation.
Thanks for the great comments everybody.

I finished the assignment this bumpercar was actually for. It had to be no longer than 450 frames at 30 fps. It had to loop too :annoyed: and it should render really fast :shame: . Nway this is the animation I am going to hand in this afternoon.

I am absolutely not content with the fixed camera, I want to show the action! So I am going to be working on a way better version that has the cool camera cuts, shake-o-vision and first person views :) . All the dudes in the bumpercars have a Soft IK head with a camera on it so viewing it from first person is REALLY cool!! There is a lot of action going on and I wanna show it.
So expect an update in the near future :) (got some other stuff to do too so might take a couple o days)
