Hi,
This week's first feature article focuses on London based Slovakian illustrator, designer and animation art director Petra Stefankova whose piece ‘The Fishmarket’ went on to win the Master Award in the ‘Abstract & Design’ category.

"Stefankova's digital artworks are based on an early 20th century surrealist automatic drawing method but she has adapted these principles to contemporary digital art practice using 3D applications. The surrealist technique refers to the psychoanalysis research of Sigmund Freud, the manifesto by Andre Breton, and the drawings of Max Ernst."

Petra's work reminds me of Pietra Spica's work.

Why I never thought of using 3d/digital media for similar work, who knows...

Nice work, I hope she keeps exploring and playing with her art,

Cheers,

Mike

It's nice to see abstract art in 3D, espeically when it has such a soft edge to it - like wood carvings. Very inspiring work.

For me, one of the most intelligent way of using 3D, she's a complete source of inspiration.
Good luck on your way Petra, I'm really curious to see how your artistic creation will be in the future :wavey:
