View Full Version : Mental Ray for Maya questions
MayaLuvr 12-14-2001, 01:25 AM Hi,
Does anyone know:
1. When A|W will release Mental Ray for Maya?
2. What version of the product it will work with? ie. does it only work with version 4.0?
Regards,

Hi dude,
So there will NOT be a version for 3.0??
I find this suprising....especially when you consider MTOR and MayaMan both work with 3.0 and 4.0...
Anyone from A|W able to confirm this???

Paul

Paul-
See my posting above. I am from A|W and can confirm that mental ray for Maya will require the current version of Maya on Windows NT/2K or IRIX - that is V4.

Does all the material types and utility nodes of maya work with mental ray? , or does the mental ray plugin adds new nodes etc?

mental ray for Maya will support procedural shading networks through its tight integration with existing Maya nodes, plus programmable shading capabilities through support for custom text
