"Warcraft plus Bejeweled equals the end of your free time."
"An amateur game maker and World of Warcraft junkie, the San Jose State undergrad decided to break more than a few laws by creating an unauthorized clone of the great puzzle game Bejeweled (called, laughingly, Besharded) that could be played in the middle of a Warcraft session. While such insolence normally leads to a barrage of cease and desist letters, Bejeweled publisher PopCap Games opted for a much different strategy..."

WoW did get that boring for me. I eventually moved on.. thank god. Blizzard painted themselves in a corner eventually with that game, opting for a cookie-cutter approach (farm, pvp, or endless hours in instances).

Yes. A terrible multi-billion dollar corner.

Multi-billion, no. Millions, yes. Just because it's making money doesn't mean it's not lacking a purpose or content anymore. Just look at the movie industry, Michael Bay's movies in particular. Look at the gaming industry as well regarding this same dilema (read archives here even).

Multi million, no. Multi biliion, yes.

Also you do realize the rest of your post is based off of pure opinion?

Multi-billion, no. Millions, yes.
You are aware that WoW is pulling in an estimated $150 million in revenue per month in subscriptions alone, right?

WoW surpasses 10 million subscribers, now half the size of Australia (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/22/world-of-warcraft-surpasses-10-million-subscribers-now-half-the/)

And that Blizzard is set to release their latest expansion pack (Wrath of the Lich King) on Nov 13th.

There's a difference between personal opinion and fact which you seem to have trouble discerning.

no, I actually know how to discern between the two... carry on lil guy. I still disagree with the numbers, but considering you're probably a WoW junkie, you consider it gold. You go with your bad self. I guess I could Google and link as well but it's just really not that important to me anymore.

And I disagree with the general attitude and disrespect you've shown other CGTalk members since you've joined this board. Talk big, act big... zero substance, zero facts.

I have never played WoW. In truth, I actually came to this thread because this lil'man likes to play a mean game of Bejeweled :D

Now stop screwing up good ol' webhead's thread ya jerk.

Have you actually read all (or at least a small percentage) of my threads since I've joined? I noticed you followed me to the Suggestion board but that's it. I think you're doing the same thing for which you're calling me out for. Respect works both ways? I don't think the thread is screwed up. I gave my opinion, you gave yours, vice versa, done. No need to call him 'ol' or me a jerk (part of that disrespect thing?). It's still a relative thread for those wanting to grab Bejeweled for WoW.Regardless...

Bejeweled is definitely one of those fun time-wasters.
In the end it's all good. Cheers mental!

Wow costs 14$ per month on average.

There are 9 million approximately subscribed players. Basic math puts it in the hundreds of millions each month; 126 million approximately. Multiply this by 12 months and you have 1.5 billion dollars on average a year.

the game is still somewhat fun and interesting. the problem they have now is that the classes within the game are heavily unbalanced.

at launch shaman were godlike and the rest were ad with warlock being worst. then warlock became an alpha class and was able to kill 3 players at once. Now its rogues. They should have followed a rock-paper-scissors rule of DD games where magic > plate wearers > other melee classes > magic and comes in full circle.

wotlk will be a good expansion but its more of the same to no end. they even wiped honor for people trying to do pvp because its not "fair" to have any...unlike..oh yea...gold?

blizzard makes good games but keeping a balance with bad decisions and having a staff made up mostly of people that came from failed mmo's was the wrong way to go. At least their art is amazing.

that said, back on track...good to see the guys from bejeweled see an opportunity and take it, instead of being headcases about it and losing out.

Geez. If it was hard to get off the Warcrack its going to be nigh impossible now. Bejeweled and Warcraft together is like crystalWarcrack. I'm not an mmo fan, I faind the whole thing kind of boring and I'm more interested in single player RPGS's instead. I did play Guild Wars and thought the game wasn't half bad though I spent more time doing the quests you can do by yourself than anything since for some odd reason everyone started doing some crazy dances when I approached them.
