View Full Version : Reflecting everything i do?
I am new to Maya, and 3d modeling in general. I remember reading somewhere about doing something with the pivot point of an object so i could work on one half of a model, and have everything reflected onto the other side as i work. i.e. I'm working on my first face, and it seems like the easiest thing to do is model one half of the face and have the other a mirror image. How do i set this up?.... thanks.

say you start with a box ,
delete the left face > hit insert > vertex snap the pivot to the bottom left vertex > grid snap the box to the origin > duplicate the box (choose instance from options) > type -1 to scale x.
there you go , whatever you do to your original box will update on the other side.
