View Full Version : unfold MESH from UV Coordinates
uglycat 09-28-2008, 05:22 AM This is kind of an odd request, but does anyone know of a way to unfold the mesh itself from the UV coordinates?
basically, say I unwrapped my object, now I want to rip the mesh at all the UV seams and flatten it out in the same shape as my UVs.
Is there a quick way to do this aside from putting a plane with the UV wireframe behind your mesh and manually positioning all the vertices?

maybe this could help as it says it creates a flat mesh from the UVs onto which to lay your complex model i.e. knit pattern, not had a chance to look myself but you never know.
