I think this is a neat idea and parts of the shots are well done.

Overall, it does not work for me. It lacks emotional context. For example, this seems more like the big scene at the end of the movie where these two animals get to race each other. Without the emotional buildup, it just seems a little flat. Because of the style, the horse and eagle are mainly silhouettes and it is difficult to connect to them too.
