CGTalk - Character Modelling

Hello I am relatively new to the whole modelling environment. I work with 3ds max. Although I already know how to use the tools I don't know how to go about using them. Right now I want to model a human character/model.

I was wondering if anyone could point me to any tutorials(Any level would be okay I think) on this. I looked in the tutorials thread on this section of the forum though I found no luck.

the Joan of arc tutorial (http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp) is the one you are looking for...You'll find it most interesting as many modelers did before you :D
