hello

I have been using painter 10 for a while now, and im having a problem creating brush dabs.

when i save a varient, into a certain catagory, for example, in my custom "geoffs pens" catagory, this new varient seems to take over and replace the rest of the varients in the same catagory. so if i have 4 different brushes, then save a new brush say in a cloud shape, then like the previous 3 brushes all seem to become this new cloud shape when i go back and select them....even after pressing the restore brush default button -- this is hard to explain, but the whole thing with saving brush dabs is driving me crazy i just cant seem to get a good library going because of this apparent glitch, maybe its just me.

anyone?? thanks!

The safest way to create a custom Captured Dab variant is to work with a copy of an existing brush variant as described in the steps below:

1. Choose an existing brush variant that comes closest to what you want in your new custom Captured Dab variant.

2. Save that brush variant with a unique name not already used by Painter or by you. Now you'll be working with a custom variant that's not going to interfere with your existing brush variants when you capture the image to use for the brush dab.

3. With the original brush variant selected, go to the Brush Selector menu and choose Restore Default Variant to restore it to its default state.

4. Select the custom brush variant you just saved with a unique name.

5. Draw a rectangular selection around the image you want to use as the Captured Dab.

6. In the Brush Selector menu, choose Capture Dab.

7. Save the custom brush variant again using the same name.
