View Full Version : Painter X and fill tool quirks
davidgoerndt 09-26-2008, 12:12 AM this may be an old problem, but I just ran into the quirkiest problem. I wanted to add a fog layer to a painting and fill it with a semi-transparent color. When I selected the color and went to use the fill tool, nothing happens. I tried several times with both the fill tool and the menu fill command. I finally got it work, but I'm not sure what made it work. Any ideas?

Hi,
Two possibilities come to mind:
The Preserve Transparency bug that makes it appear Preserve Transparency is disabled because there isn't a check mark in the box (upper left corner of the Layers palette). The fix is to click in the box until a check mark appears, then click once more to remove the check mark and disable Preserve Transparency.
Or.....
The Drawing Mode might have been set to Draw Outside (click the first icon on the left in the lower left corner of the image window to display three icons... from left to right, Draw Anywhere, Draw Outside, and Draw Inside).
