View Full Version : SWF export quality issue

Im rendering off some quick animations I had done in AE and exporting them as SWF's. Im using the 'export' function in the 'file' tab and NOT the 'composition>make movie..'

I have set the quality to the highest (jpeg10) which seems to be the ONLY quality control, yet when I review the finished SWF file (after rendering), the quality is quite LESS compaired the same video rendered out from flash.
I see a lot of jagged edges around steep angles.
The way it displays in my composition window (in AE) is nice and crisp.
So im wondering if there is some other setting somewhere that I can adjust the quality..

OR...

Is this just showing that quality SWF files are best rendered from Flash and not AE.

Im NOT using any vector info. Straight jpeg images. (Original image quality is good/non issue)

Not per se, but it's possible you are using color profiles or filters that may mess up things. In any case, since you have Flash, why even burden your mind with such considerations? Importing the sequence may be an extra step, but if it gives the right result, who cares? ;-)

I will check the profiles thing out for sure.
The reason im doing this is because a girl I work with has been doing these ads for a company and she is using flash. I had to take over her work for a day thus I had to use flash (which I dont know). While using flash I thought it would be MUCH easier to do it all in AE.
Except....
The final output quality looks very bad. Well... compared to the flash render. SO... Basically, I am trying to lighten her work load by doing this in AE.
But ran into the quality snag.
But thanks for your advice! I will look into that!
