Title: Seaside Terrace
Name: Tim Jones
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Digital Fusion, Photoshop, VRay
3ds Max 2008, Vray, Digital Fusion
Recently I had the opportunity to work on some personal artwork again. I'm finding it harder and harder to find the time to do these little projects. I spent 3 evenings working on this one. The first night modeling, second texturing, and the third night lighting and compositing. This render was created for fun, but I did use it as an example on my latest Gnomon training DVD. Here is a link to the DVD if anyone is interested.

you really made the Ivy look great. your work was a great inspiration when I was creating the frog piece in my portfolio (although it still doesnt hold a candle to your great stuff). awesome work.

Great work Seraph135! could you give us some insight into the which render layers you were working with in post, any 2d relighting etc.
For this image I used Diffuse, RawGI, RawLighting, Reflections and spec passes. I also used some RGB matte passes. There was no 2d relighting done on this render. This render didn't require breaking things down any further. However, there is chapter on the dvd that covers how to work with many of the other passes vray can output.
nice work. do you use IVE generator?
best regards
I did use the Ivy generator...I used the standalone version of it though cause I wasn't happy with the results I was getting from the plugin.
Great job Tim!

Thanks! I quite enjoyed the Warhammer cinematic you guys recently did also. Great work! Congrats to you and your team!
