View Full Version : Can't load aEdge...
Martin Kay 09-25-2008, 12:42 AM Hi Folks. Don't know if anyone can help. I can't seem to use the aEdge set of shaders- I'm using 6.52. There are no installation instructions- I assume you just drag the shader files into the shader folder. MForge works ok and I think was purchased around the same time...

I see from the the TripleD site that aEdge and aFractal are '6.6 ready' At what version did they stop working?

The aEdge shaders work fine on my Mac 6.5 uned OSX 1.4.2 - know you are on a PC and not sure if there were any troubes with them for 6.5.
Yes, you just place them in your shaders folder - or actually anywhere you wish. Pluggins have to be in the 'sockets' folder but shaders work from anywhere...no drag and drop though if placed elsewhere.

Thanks for that Paul. aEdge did work when I originally bought it, along with MForge, which still works! A marvellous piece of work MForge and great documentation- I wonder if anyone apart from you has totally utilised it beyond using the presets...
I Emailed tripleD to see what they say.

Turns out the aEdge shaders were corrupted... somehow... previous to my attempt to use the old set, my main computer had had a motherboard failure and the repairer also updated my system to XP Service Pack 3. Whether that had any bearing I don't know...
TripleD kindly sent me another set of shaders, and very promptly too- so thanks to Gar Spretz there! Nice set of shaders.
