View Full Version : Budget gpu
julianii 09-24-2008, 10:32 PM Hey Guys I recently built my budget PC for gaming and 3d work. All I need now is
a gpu, but its such a hard decision since there's many options and price cuts. I was looking at the HIS Hightech H467QT512P Radeon HD 4670 turbo which is overlocked and I checked out the test results and the card is pretty good for the price. Do you guys think I should wait till october for the new releases or what budget cards do you recommend or use?

Yes I agree with you..First His icq cooler has won many awards..start form icq, icg2, icg3, and the latest icq4 used by his icq4 hd4850 512mb ddr3 with dual heatpipe, big heatsink, cover all memory and pcb and big fan with low noise...and just used 1 soket(6pin)cable power
His HD4670 has the same performance with His HD3850, with small/low power consumption..but them both price also closer....i suggest you to take His Icq3 hd3850 512mb you can Overclock it become HD3870 standard performance...
but if you want to wait untill october you will get the new family of ATi HD48XX...at that time AMD ATI will cut down the price of all older product...and you can get your HIS HD4670 more cheaper than today...
just wait and be patience...

thanx for feedback. The problem with the 3850 although maybe faster then 4670 is that it is an older model. The 4670 is based on the 4800 series.

no.. you not 100% right...basicly the 4670 chipset or 48xx family was develop form the older chipset..i mean 3800 family..you can read article from tomshardware with headline "ATI Radeon HD 4850: Smarter by Design?"
here i copy from http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-4850,1957-4.html
"AMD has chosen to build on its previous architecture rather than starting from scratch. It’s very much the same as that of the R600, which had already been re-used for the RV670. "
2900/3800/4800 series with streamprocessor cores unit will truely best perform in directx 10...not in directx 9.c ....and also the greenforce family geforce 88xx/9xxx/2xx series
so for the good investment in the future..i think you better take 3850/3870 or maybe you can take the phenomenal 4850..:)...

My mistake I should of read up on it further. I'm gonna go with 4 options:
1:wait till the 4830 comes out in october and see if its worth it
2:wait untill the the price drops on the 4870
3:see what new models are coming out at the end of the year
4:Get this nice deal on the 4850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121253

yes...you had made right decision...4850 is the real moster...faster than 9800gt closer to 9800gtx a little bit slow than GTX260...you better take His ICQ4 HD4850 ddr3 dual slot system..HIS ICQ4 series more cooler than single slot cooler system...congratz bro...
