View Full Version : Game Character - Reptile Woman - Masreya
krets 06-06-2003, 04:58 PM Fully rigged character made in Max, textured with a Wacom in Photoshop. I posted previous versions in the WIP. I had to put this down a week ago. I am finished with it, but there are things I would change if I had the time to spend on it. Critiques are welcome (I may yet get a chance to fix things).

i'm sorry to say this but she is really quite ugly.. as in the character design.
for a real crit, she definitely needs more appeal.. every good character should appeal to the eye. you can definitely make her look better. if her circumstances don't allow it then its very difficult to make it an APPEALING character.
she doesn't have to be very beautiful but at least have the style or a certain color scheme.
but overall i can see the technical effort put into it.
try again!

I am not bothered with you saying that she is ugly. She is not pretty. I was not aiming for that. I do wonder what you mean by color scheme. She is monochromatic, as she will blend with much of the environment, and contrast with other parts. What more would you put into style?
You seem to have some idea of what I should change, please expound on that.
I like harsh criticisms, so go for it. Just be specific.

Now, just for fun, try softening her face textures... add a little eyeshadow. And render to see which you like more.

Hi kret.
Try exchanging her eyes for a pair of real, sexy woman's eyes. you know what i mean... you can keep the colour of her eyes though.
Like how they can make mistique in x men so sexy though her body is so blue and funny scalies hanging from her tits.

the texture is very amazing. But the mesh seems very messy.

maybe I should have had an un-posed wireframe. I used rigid bind with 2 bones per vertex. The deformations are not wonderful. Here is a un-posed wireframe. I think my mesh is pretty clean.
the rig could use help.
but I will redo based on usage perhaps give it a standard UT2k3 skeleton.

Honestly I don;t know why you dident subpatch her or anything. PLus she's not all tri's. You should REALLY add some more detail on the feet and arms man. Shouldent be so rigid.......

The mesh should be optimised more there are few unnecessary polygons. Adding more shadows to the map would be also better. Otherwise good.

she reminds me of an old slag from a coucil estate
i think its
a. the posture
b. those short spindly legs
c. the broad shoulders
d. she seems slightly hunched
she isnt dainty enough
but
admittedly....its very hard to make a woman look sexy not in heels i find
you have to get creative with the proportions in the legs
