I know nowt about COFFEE,stilll haven't had a chance to get stuck in to rui's book

can coffee 'create' expresso nodes or xgroups or maybe load them?..... you can see i know nothing http://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/smiley2.gif

i'm working on something with a lot of point nodes on different splines .....the first, mid+last points on all these splines, need to be constrained to nulls
The nulls are then 'controllers'

Anyway its really tedious, selecting the point, looking up index number in structure browser, creating a point node+constant node(putting index number in) and dragging in all the splines, getting your nulls in the right place,etc..etc..

i know i can make a preset xgroup and drag items from the OM to XP nodes, but still have to look up point info, and create+position null

What i would love is a button that could be pressed http://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/style_emoticons/default/spoton.gif or script run that would look at the OM see you have a spline selected, see which point on the spline is selected...and auto create the point node setup in a XP tag.... it could create the null for you at the selected points pos and get its name from the selected spline..ie spline2 controller/handle......

If it could do all this i would pay for it...it would save so much time, not only on this project, but in many others as well

If i know its possible in theory ,i may dive into the COFFEE pot myself

cheers in advance for any help, suggestions.
