Hey man. I like the look of this a lot.. I think the first one looks better though as you get more reflections off the water :-)

WOW, love it! what an excellent idea! water is extremely real. I especially like the human remains/bones/etc made into erm, tree/rock/monument. Is it supposed to be tree-like? , 'cause it looks a bit like the roots found in fresh-water.
Anyway, here's the annoying two-cents (lol): I think you could make the roots (the human bones near the water) a bit darker like it's wet (waves are bound to happen). And the bands in the arm, try spreading it a bit, (like, toward the wrist), 'cause it looks a bit unnatural for the bands to be symetrical (er, is that the word? sorry, need to improve my eng)/balanced on both sides... What about fins at the ear? haha just kidding bout that one...
besides that, i still think it's wow worthy! :applause:

Wow!, I really like it. Such a beautiful idea. And so well exacuted. Just a small thing; thefading of the tail to the rest of her doesn't look quite natural.

ok, that guy mentioned the surroundings, and made me take a second look, you get there and your like "hmm, nice tree stump"
but you also get a "wait.. o.O THEREISAPERSONINTHERE!!!!" that's crazy man, redo the first image without the marmade, and leave it as is... freak people out with just that...
so, where's the problem...i don't get it. the good thing is: it is a matter of personal likes/dislikes. :wavey:
but let me tell you this: um, i think i didn't understand your posting...:shrug: :D funny:thumbsup: i'm puzzled.:insane:
Nice image....personally though i'd rather see her holding a conch(giant seashell you can blow through) rather than a skull, even though she is surrounded by weird treeish people......it would tie in a bit better and make it that much more pleasing IMHO....yet, it is a great image....great job:thumbsup:

You just gotta keep trying eventually they show up and they're worth the wait :)
Wow... the environment is astounding! And the mermaid is wonderfully done. The setting makes me think of the myth of the Sirens singing sailors to their doom.
Minor crit: where the mermaid's tail ends below her hips seems odd, almost like she hasn't quite pulled a fish tail costume up over her legs. I like the touch of scale on her arms and the way that the necklace she's wearing seems to have affixed itself to her chest.
Thank you for interest in my poor work. ^^
Refer to the reply, next work is better than this.
i got inspiration from a legend of mermaid, possess a man.
using maya, photoshop ^^
