Title: boxer 1
Name: Brice Bairhalter
Country: USA
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, ZBrush

This character came from an idea I had originally to paint a texture that was a little different than just a simple human. It was my first real attempt at painting bruises and getting results from an idea.

The character was modeled in Maya and displacement was created in ZBrush. I painted a basic texture in ZBrush and refined my work in Photoshop. Using this work flow has allowed me to drastically improve my texture painting skills.

If you have any comments or ideas on how to improve this piece feel free to rip it apart, thank you.

Nice work. The shorts and shoes look great but I would say that if you were trying to work on painting bruising then I think a closer render with more light on the face would bring that out more. I can hardly see all the work you did on the face. One more thing as well, the shadow behind the head looks like he is sitting up against a wall, I don't know if you did that on purpose or not but the space of the ring is not very well understood. I think all these changes are pretty simple so keep it up!
