Hi everyone,

Well, its Rosh-Hashana here in Israel, and I cant let it go without a greeting animation, so,
I used Gravity's (The company I work for) logo and this cute Ninja character we used for one of our recent projects.
We, In Israel, traditionaly dip an apple slice in honey, to symbolise a sweeter year to come upon us.
Hope you guys like what you see and may your year be sweeter than the last.

Special Thanks:
Yoav Savaryego for everything!
Issy man, thanks for the awesome simulation.

SOUND IS MANDATORY!

Yeah! fun fun fun.
The animation is superb, as usual, only this time its "superbier"? "more superb" than...? ;)
The music and sound fit to the point, I dig the camera and the small jump and fall to the ground at the end, you seem to know exactly what you are doing and I envy you for that.

Bottom line, Im surprised each and every time I see new work you post, ever since the amazing 300 penguin take off.
Im a huge fan!
5*
Can you get plugged twice in 3 months span?

I watched your animation on you tube. I found it delightful. I was glad you explained the apple and honey.

Superb work. I bookmarked it to show my kids. I am certain they will enjoy it. This is the first of your works I have seen. I defiantly will be looking forward to seeing more.

Hey, thanks to the new commenters :)
Henry (wow, Im blushing here), Freelanimator, shtibel, and levidann.

levidann - I usualy start with a small idea that I develope in my head, then I start drawing a rough plan for the animation.
It could either be in Flash or my new favourite - Digicel flipbook.
I confirm everything with the director showing him/her the 2d plan so I dont have to show the whole shot in stepped mode, he/she has an idea how everything would turn out.
Then, after 'nailing' the timing and poses I go to maya.
In the maya stage I still play and tweak my timing, Im not relying all my descisions on the 2d plan I did.
I dont pose to pose the whole piece, I like to see the things move in front of my eyes so I might pose 3-4 key poses and start inbetweening them and then move on to the rest.

Here is the plan I did for this greeting animation -

http://www.ranimation.com/reel08/Shana_04.jpg

The first part - Right-Click and save as... (http://www.ranimation.com/reel08/Ninja2.mov)
The second part - Right-Click and save as... (http://www.ranimation.com/reel08/Ninja2_end.mov)

Hope it helps...

Awesome work as usual.
Its nice to see how you approach your work, I love the 2d plan, it helps alot to do a quick sketch and then move on to the hardcore animation process.
Im using flash to plan my shots but I dont get too detailed, seems like you are having fun even planning.
I think the cute animation you did could have worked well even if you finalized the 2d sketch. looks awesome.
5* from me too.
