Hi. Can anybody help me to create object with metal surface properties, that I can use in physical simulation (using reactor)? That it deformating like a metal.
In attached file I tried to achieve such properties but it looks more like rubber mattress. Maybe you know what I am doing wrong?

What specifically do you want Reactor to do to the metal? If we knew that, it would help. Maybe Reactor is not the best choice.

Well I'm not an expert in Reactor, but I know metals pretty darn well, and the stiffness of the box needs to be set higher to start with. I'm re-running the simulation right now with a higher stiffnes and a different solver. Let's see what happens.

Steel has to absorb a fair amount of force before it begins to deform. The box you have setup is to springy.

posm, i want to make metal that deforms like metal, not like rubber. Its deforms after kick, then freeze and simulate then like RB not SB. Can u help me?

Then I'd say morph it during the kick. Then RB it for movement.

I have run the simulation a few times, and the elasticity looks too high. I have bumped the stiffness and added more mass, and it is starting to get there. It just takes awhile to recompute:shrug:

posm, do u think that i cant make this deformation without reactor? i am asking u how to use REAL physics in this case.
tex3d thx for helping ;)

Whatever works for you.

I suggested a time-saver, since a physics simulator is usually not the most cost-effective method for animation.
