This is a reminder we are having a meeting on Monday, September 22 from 7pm to 9pm at BAE Systems.

DC_SIGGRAPH welcomes Tom Bridgman as he speaks on Scientific Data Visualization using Open Source tools. Tom is currently under contract
with the Scientific Visualization Studio at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. Please join us on Monday, September 22 from 7pm to 9pm as Tom

W.T. "Tom" Bridgman, Ph.D., Global Science & Technology, Inc.

This talk is geared to the scientific researcher, without access to expensive computer graphics facilities, who wishes to generate quality
visualizations for classroom and conference presentation. The focus is tutorial, describing tools, graphical standards, and explaining some of
the differences in terminology and thinking between the fields of physics and computer graphics.

The Speaker: Dr. Bridgman is employed by Global Science & Technology, Inc. under contract with the Scientific Visualization Studio at
NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (http://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov (http://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/)). His primary work is developing data visualizations for the NASA Heliophysics
division illustrating the connections between the Sun and geospace. He has a Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy from Clemson University.
