View Full Version : Assigning deflection to multiple objects?

Hello all,

Just a quick question - I'm trying to assign deflection to branches of a tree (a fir). However, since the needles on the tree branches are added as particles and i vary the density along various branches i'd like to avoid joining the objects as this seems to force it all under one particles setting/density.
What i would like to do however is to assign the same deflection settings to all the branches, but it does not seem that it is possible to select multiple objects and assign deflection at the same time. Does anyone know a workaround - or am i doing something wrong?
Its a bit of a pain having to select and assign deflection to every branch if is can be avoided :arteest:

Let me understand...

By 'deflection' you mean 'collision'?

If this is the case you can do this way:

Select all objects that must have the same collision settings and LAST select the object that you already configurate collision. Hit CTRL+C (Copy Attributes) and choose Modiffiers... >> Collision.

You can copy a lot of attributes from the active object (last selected) with this command.

Hope that helps.

Hi Mordachai

I meant deflection in terms of interacting with soft bodies, but thank you for the method - I'll try and see if i can do it with deflection settings as well.

Cheers

Got a chance to test the copy attributes now, and while there seems to be virtually every other setting to copy as either attribue or modifier except the deflection of soft bodies...
sems like its the manual way forward then.
