Hi everyone,

I have been reading up on theHold.

Was experimenting with it in scripting. Have no idea how it works. Documentation did not quite explain it.

Please help..

Hold saves a copy of the scene into memory. Pretty much like a "Save As"
and then Fetch Opens it.

It lets you save out a complete scene instance to which you can return like an Undo but 100% thorough.

This'll let you do anything you want to the scene such as merge, import or render and then instead of worrying about undoing all of that just return to a point before you made the scene changes.

The theHold structure manages max's undo/redo system. Unless you really know what you're doing you probably shouldn't use this, and go with undo blocks instead (see the "undo" topic in the manual).

will read up more on theHold.

learning scripting now. and hope to use something like theHold in catch. so that user don't have to undo the steps but scene will be as before.
