Hi all, hope u can help me out!

Whats the best curve for bump mapping ?
(derived from color map)

IMO, totally depends on your renderer. Best advice I could give is to never clip white or black (plateaus are generally bad), also try to use the full range (more precision). Although that depends on your app... does it let you reduce bump strength via a slider, or do you have to pre-level it down yourself.
