View Full Version : um, anywhere to download the default surface presets?

The 7.5b disk of LW I'm finding is missing more and more.

I had to get Newtek to email the missing plug-ins (SasLite, WaveFilter, etc.) and now I've found that I don't have any surface presets. In fact, I don't even have a Presets folder until I install the 7.5c update (but it's still empty)

So....does anyone know if there's a place online to download the default presets or should I just wait and make another long-distance call to Newtek tech support tomorrow?

I'm going through some tutorials right now that call for them.

do you have the installer CD? It's all there. I told you guys not to install 7.5b and wait a bit longer. I have been using the c update, download that and it might fix your problem.

The presets missing is a configuration issue. This happened once to me but was easily fixed with the CD ask your SA to give it to you if you don't have it.

At work (macs) we have the presets.

It's my own personal version that I have for my PC that doesn't include them

It installs 7.5b (no option for 7.5)

I just downloaded them from the Mac version CD. Hopefully everything will work properly

I've noticed they're missing a lot of content from the PC disk.

Just a warning for those who have ordered LW recently :(

Actually I dont know why you went to such lengths for the original presets when "Presets.com,Luxology.com,Newtek.com(check in the members area),Shades(do a search at Flay.com),Darksim.com(shaders)" all provide free presets and shaders.

And there are hundreds to choose from....:shrug:

But if I wouldn't have gone to such lengths I probably wouldn't have realized that I'm missing a lot of my content besides surface presets.

I guess I just like to get what I pay for.

Really, I'm just stupid. I wonder how I even get out of bed in the morning without setting the house on fire.

Dont feel bad....seems as though there are many lately that are coming up with missing files and presets....I'm not sure if all these updates are taking its tolls on us users...

Problem is, since I'm just starting, I don't really know what I'm missing and if I even need to be concerned.

It's like a newbie having Photoshop and not having Gaussian Blur filter. (Doesn't know how important it is until he knows the app)

It will be awhile before I get into hypervoxels but I've noticed that I don't have any presets for those either :(

LOL!!!. got ya, I thought it was the copy at work. The Presets are cross platform so they should work just fine.

All the presets are in the same directory broken down in subdirectories. ei: ...Programs\Presets\sub directories here...
