Is it just me or does it take Lightwave a long time to Update Geometry and Free Frame Buffers when rendering? Of course a long time is relative depending on the object and poly count in the scene file.

I would like to see Lightwave 8 solve this problem, it would easily speed up rendering by 100%.

If you find yourself doing a lot of testrenders I would recommend pre-subdividing everything before hitting F9.
(Setting the Display and Render subdivision to the same value).

Otherwise it tends to take quite long for LW to subdivide (Updating Geometry) before a render and un-subdivide once its finished the render.

Freezing nondeforming objects in modeler before rendering helps too.

Actually, setting the preview and render subdivisons to the same amount will help too.
