View Full Version : How to model popcorn
Hey guys, i wanted to know an easy way to model Popcorn. I've heard its pretty simple by using displacements maps. I have no idea where to start and how to do it in Maya, any help on modelling and texturing of a popcorn would be really appreciated. Cheers.

Yeah, i'd imagine so, but you have to edit a few of them, to really get the right size/shape, + the skinning/texturing would be pretty cool 2.
if someone find a tutorial on it, post it, wouldnt be bad getting to learn popcorn :)

displacement maps, i would make a shape that is just a rough shape to popcorn, then displacement map on it. use ipr to tweak it. if you need a lot, use particles that emit geormetry. lots of stuff on highend for scripts on generating random geomerty sizes and stuff.
