I fail to see your problem. The help file for Lenscare explains everything well enough and beyond that you could always refer to the AE help on using the Lensblur effect or Compound Blur for similar insights. The only thing to take care of is to avoid incorrect antialiasing (or antialiasing at all) on your depth pass and to combine the background and foreground elements before applying depth effects. I really have no clue why you are seeing any difficulties and request lengthy explanations- blindly clicking on the effects controls would eventually provide the necessary insights after 5 minutes.
