View Full Version : fRig :: scripted rig reel
IkerCLoN 09-19-2008, 10:14 AM Hi, guys! After working on an autoRig tool during 6 months at home and at the studio, I'm able to show you some results at last.
View here >>> http://vimeo.com/1763270
Download here (~100 mb) >>>http://vimeo.com/download/video:85279625?e=1221817219&h=d3ef0acbf55f6c42ff99b858d29ea21e
It's the first 'more or less complete' version (because today I'm changing and adding somethings), and it's automatically generated by a tool I've developed on my own. I've learnt to script during the making of this rig, 'cos 8 months ago I didn't know very much about coding.
So I would like to thank some people here that share their knowledge with others: Félix, Sami, Paul, Charles, Mark, Kai, Alex and more!
Thanks for seeing! Oh, and any comment or advice would be welcome :) As soon as possible I'll add videos on how the rig is built.

I think you are my new hero:)
That looks great,
how do you adjust the size of the rig for the set-up?
will you be posting the script for this rig?
Well done,
Asa

Thanks for posting, dudes, and I'm glad you like it :-)
JamesEK4 :: the group is 'Jazzanova', and the song is called 'Bohemian Sunset'.
AsaMovshovitz :: I will release a little video which will show the process of adjusting and building the rig. The rig gets the proportions using a points file, that uses a point for every joint. Tweaking the position of the points, you get different proportions on the skeleton. And about releasing it, nope, I'm not planning to do it :) Sorry about that!
Thanks again!
looks awesome. would be nice to see more of this :)
Looks great Iker. Has some really nice features and look like it is easy to use.
The demo reel could be sped up two to three times however as it drags on watching you pose the rig at times.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I'm happy you like it, Paul. I took ideas from here and there and finally got it working. And I totally agree with you about the speed on the video: next time the posing parts will be faster and less 'annoying' (and also more nice poses... cough cough...) ;)

Hey Mark! how's life??
Iker, i don't know how i could miss this thread, that looks brilliant! i'm quite curious to see the part in which you "build" the character , looks like a very easy and powerful tool, i'm impressed with the quality and evolution of your work :)

Iker, all I can say is this is fantasticly clean, tidy, and easy to use! I have seen a lot of the things you did, and man, it is looking really fun:) I actually have some questions about your deformation grid, but I will probably find a better place to ask them:) Once again, great stuff!

Thanks again for your kind works :-)
Dimich, feel free to send mi a PM or an e-mail asking whatever you need to know about the tool. I wanted it to be used for the shortfilm we're working on, but it's not very stable at the moment, it did not have all the 'features' I wanted for it and I've got no time to give tool-support to the animation team right now (beeing the only rigger in the studio means tons of work :D:D:D).
Metamesh, yes, you're right: I recorded and edited them and never uploaded them. I guess in one or two weeks I'll be a little more relaxed, since I go into R&D again. Hope I can post something then ;) And maybe I can use the tools with one of your awesome chars ^_^
Thanks!
