Hello, this is my first challenge. I hope I am up to it.

My character is named Scourge. She is an evil goddess that has been banned from the heavens because she is trying to take over the universe and control all of the other gods.

She was bound and cast to the earth and the people of Earth were made aware of her. She is hunted by the humans of the Earth. Because of her status, she could not be destroyed by the gods, which was why she was cast down. They also could not destroy her powers, only seperate them from her.

Scourge, at the beginning can only fight and have limited godly powers like lightning and wind, but she gains back her powers by going to the temples of the other gods, who hold her powers and winning them back.

She also has the ability to transform herself into Arkenan, who is also known as the Lord of Doom and a winged demon monster name Craethon, who can fly, and breath fire. These abilities come to her fairly early on when she defeats some demi gods.

This is a very simple story that I made up right now. I think that her backstory will develop.

The great thing about this is if you beat the game, pretty much evil will reign. It is a different outlook on video games where instead of good trying to triumph over evil, it is the other way around. I like to sometimes go against the grain.

Forgot to mention the game style. It is a 3rd Person shooter/figher in the style of Jedi Knight. There will be a lot of close combat and only a few range weapons.

Well, started modeling her body. I'm not the best female modeler, but I hope to make her more attractive soon.

I only did the mouth for practice.

I'm thinking of using opacity mapped patches, or just a scatter of renderable splines with opacity mapped strands. I have seen a tutorial on a French site somewhere, in which the person used editible splines, made them thicker and then put a map on them.

Ok, back to work for me on my hero goddess.

I was trying to think of a cool looking mechanical piece that fits on the side of her head. I'm not very good with cyborg attachments, but I came up with this:

So I have started putting that together on her head today. I also played a little with opacity mapped patches to see about getting her hair to work. I want her to have flowing hair, but patches may not work, unless I can really get some good hair maps going.

Just got back into working with my character. I am detailing her headgear a bit and I have started on her arm blades. Other than the hair, that is about all I can do with her other than details.

I am working on concepts for her other two forms, which I may show. I am also going to work on an environment for her to be in.

Then it is boning, and texturing.

Well, I have decided to stop this contest for now. I'll probably develop my character anyway because she is mostly done. I have to concentrate on a school animation project for now and having too many projects going on is not a smart idea.

Good luck to all in the contest and maybe I'll be able to either get back in, or go with the next contest.

(funny i'm writing this as I'm one of the few people that checks my posts. I guess my stuff isn't that exciting. next time..next time.):wip:

Thanks Hellwolve: I wasn't looking for the OMG YOU RULE! posts. Frankly, compared to a lot of the stuff I see, my stuff isn't that great.

Naw, I was just hoping for a little more input as I'm still fairly new to the 3D arena and with all of the great artists, I was hoping to get some more feedback.

I didn't want my post to look like I was complaining, because I am not. I really have to abandon this because of my other project. I need to concentrate on that. Hopefully I can do the next challenge.
